Can’t this be a conflict of interest?
We don’t want it to even appear to be a potential conflict. Some situations will be potential conflicts; others will not. If you are concerned about a particular situation, we encourage you to look for a different referral opportunity.

One example that is not likely to be a perceived conflict is if someone in your personal network mentions that his or her company will be looking to fill a new or open position.

An example that is likely to be a potential conflict is if you are on a search committee to fill a position in your organization. In that case, you should feel free to contact us as a potential search partner, yet you probably don’t want a referral fee involved.

Why is the finder’s fee so generous?
Why not? Once a client begins working with us, we can usually count on repeat business. So it’s worth it for us to get that initial introduction.

Who is a good referral candidate?
Anyone at a healthcare vendor who might have an interest in finding new managerial, executive, or sales talent…or someone who has access to such a person (e.g., a friend may know that his or her boss has a need). Some possible places to hear about a potential need are:

Business partners • Clients • Professional groups • Your employer • Consultants
Venture capital/private equity investors • Your personal network

Can I refer someone at my own employer?
Yes, as long as you feel comfortable with the circumstances. For example, if you know a search committee or an HR executive is looking for a search firm with our specialized focus, you may feel comfortable calling attention to our firm for consideration. Again, we are only looking for an introduction, not an endorsement of any kind.

Does the referred person need to be the “hiring manager,” or could s/he be a conduit to the hiring manager?
A referral could be to a hiring manager, someone on a search committee, or someone one step removed. For example, a business partner might tell you that his or her company will be looking to fill a position. A referral to that person could lead to the hiring manager or search committee, which could lead to a search for us and a check for you.

What if I refer more than one lead?
There is no limit. For every successful referral you will receive a FedEx package with a check inside.
