Jim founded Gibson Consultants in 2002 after careers in healthcare technology and group health insurance.
At Dictaphone Healthcare, he was responsible for selling advanced speech recognition solutions to hospitals, clinics, and imaging centers. Working with the product management group, he also helped position Dictaphone’s automated coding, NLP, and handheld charge capture solutions. As Vice President of Sales for HSS, Jim was responsible for nationwide direct and third-party sales of coding, case mix classification, and prospective payment system (PPS) software to hospitals and health plans. Before HSS, Jim sold the DIAMOND claim system for Health Systems Design and clinical guidelines and administrative services for Health Risk Management.
Prior to his healthcare technology career, he spent nine years with Prudential Healthcare in sales, sales management, and hospital contracting. Jim was also responsible for account management for the eastern region of MHN, a managed behavioral health company.
Jim’s value for fulfilling work is the foundation for why he started Gibson Consultants. Jim says, “We’re helping people with their careers while helping our clients build winning teams. We’re giving our team members rewarding career opportunities and creating meaningful, high-paying jobs for Wilmington, my adopted hometown. Margaret StamatisChief Operating Officer

Margaret Stamatis is the Chief Operating Officer at Gibson Consultants. She joined Gibson Consultants in 2013 as part of its research department, specifically assisting the Executive Search Consultants with candidate searches. Since joining the company, her responsibilities have grown to include marketing initiatives, operations, accounting, human resources, and special projects for Gibson Consultants.
Prior to joining Gibson Consultants, Margaret enjoyed a 20-year career in marketing, notably sponsorship consulting and national consumer promotions. Most recently, she led a team as Vice President at Team Epic, a sports sponsorship agency matching clients with sponsorship properties and activating sponsorships to advance brand objectives. Her responsibilities included client and property lead, contract consultation, athlete negotiation, internal P&L and client activation budgets, analysis of property opportunities, and overall management of event activation teams.
Margaret is a dedicated volunteer for organizations and causes that benefit community youth. Her muse is Brene Brown, and her family and co-workers are her daily inspiration. Margaret values character and believes character is defined by who you are when no one is looking. The number 4 is her favorite number because she has 4 boys, is the oldest of 4 sisters, and has participated in 4 marathons and 4 sprint triathlons. Margaret’s inspiration to share is, “That’s what alchemists do. They show that, when we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too.” (The Alchemist)

Before joining Gibson Consultants in 2003, Betsy had an 18-year career with Aetna. She held positions ranging from account executive and marketing manager, to vice president of account management, vice president of sales, and ultimately general manager.
As general manager, Betsy was responsible for a 1.2 million-member health plan, which was rated the #1 plan in the state by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. Directing a staff of 240, Betsy oversaw departments that included Medicare and commercial sales and service, provider relations, network management, quality management and local operations.

Prior to Gibson Consultants, Colleen had a successful career in sales and brand management within Fortune 500 companies. She was successful in developing and leading sales programs for prospective accounts. While implementing marketing and merchandising strategies for retail platforms, she was consistently recognized as a top performer. Her contribution to her previous organizations led to substantial growth within their markets.
Outside of working for Gibson Consultants, Colleen also acts as the Executive Assistant to two bright and busy young daughters. You can find her searching for sea glass, traveling, or spending time with family in her free time.

Emily is the Director of People Operations and is driving Gibson’s HR initiatives, regulatory compliance, internal recruiting, and training programs.
Before Gibson Consultants, she oversaw HR in the Heavy Civil Construction industry for the last 7 years. She is a dedicated professional with a diverse HR background and strong experience in regulatory compliance, employee engagement initiatives, payroll, internal recruiting, training, and other HR facets.
In her current role, Emily wears many hats as she partners with Management to drive employee engagement initiatives, streamline HR processes and bring in talented recruiters! She coordinates and manages training programs for current and new staff employees. While also overseeing the day-to-day office needs for Gibson.
When not at work, Emily enjoys reading and arts and crafts. In the summertime, you’ll find her on the local beaches reading and working on her tan. She enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures and once a year Emily endeavors to travel to a new country – Switzerland is now on the list!

Before working in ABA, she worked with adolescent youth in a psychiatric hospital using Recreation Therapy to help patients reach their goals.

Her technical knowledge of healthcare and her ability to solve problems and reach goals with her clients help her effectively identify and match candidates for executive roles in digital health companies.

Prior to joining Gibson Consultants, Brian collected over 15 years of Business Development and Marketing experience, serving as Associate Director of Business Development for a leading provider of Oracle Clinical Data Management services. Brian was responsible for developing and negotiating clinical service agreements to maximize profitability, support, and ensure adherence to Master Service Agreements. He continued to gain industry knowledge through his various roles in Clinical Research and Clinical Data Management. Before starting this new chapter, Victoria worked in the restaurant industry. The experience in the field sparked her interest in what would later become her major…communication. Restaurant work hones a very specific skill set. Adaptability, time management, and resiliency are just a few of the soft skills she acquired over the years.
At Gibson Consultants, Victoria assists in finding viable candidates and administrative work. She helps to maintain the company database and collaborates with other team members on daily tasks, including recruitment research via LinkedIn. She aims to learn all she can during her time here.
Victoria grew up in the mountains of Virginia and moved to Wilmington in 2016. She enjoys surfing, skating, and playing basketball. She loves being outside and believes there is nothing a little sunshine cannot fix. She also likes singing, but only her steering wheel has any evidence of that.
Victoria is an upcoming graduate of University of North Carolina Wilmington. She is set to graduate in December of 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. She has concentrated on integrated marketing communication due to the various avenues she could take in a career. She is passionate about her education and has plans to earn more degrees in the future.

Prior to working at Gibson, Devon gained customer service experience through her years of work in the service industry. Working in this field allowed her to expand her communication and problem-solving skills, while also getting experience working in a diverse team. Additionally, her involvement in business-oriented clubs at UNCW has given her knowledge regarding the business professional world. These clubs include Women in Business and Pse Sigma Epsilon, a business fraternity at UNCW. Along with these clubs, she’s taken numerous classes in the Cameron School of Business to further develop her knowledge of the business-professional world.
At Gibson, Devon assists with various tasks to support the day-to-day success of the team members. By organizing the company’s database, she contributes to the recruitment research and the company’s success.
Devon is tenacious, creative, and responsible. She loves to keep up an active lifestyle, spend time with her friends and family, and cook. She’s passionate about empowering those around her and hopes to bring this into a career into the future.
